Security Window Film

Standard window glass is one of the most vulnerable points in any home or business. A single impact — whether from an intruder, a storm, or an accident — can send dangerous glass shards flying. Security window film changes that.

YESA Window Tinting installs professional-grade security film that bonds to your existing glass and holds it together on impact. The glass may crack, but it stays in the frame — making it significantly harder for intruders to gain entry and protecting occupants from flying shards.

We install security film for homes and businesses across the Denver metro area. Whether you're concerned about break-ins, severe weather, or simply want an extra layer of safety for your family or employees, security film delivers real protection.

Benefits

Why Choose Security Window Film

Break-In Deterrent

Intruders expect glass to shatter and fall away. Security film holds it together, slowing or preventing entry.

Storm Protection

During severe weather, security film prevents glass shards from becoming dangerous projectiles inside your space.

Safety Glass

Protects occupants from injury caused by flying glass during accidents, impacts, or explosions.

UV Protection

Many security films also block UV rays, adding energy savings and fade protection to the security benefits.

Nearly Invisible

Security film is clear or very lightly tinted — it doesn't change the appearance of your windows.

Cost-Effective

Far less expensive than security glass replacement. Adds protection to your existing windows in hours.

How Security Film Works

Security window film is a thick, multi-layered polyester film that bonds to your glass with a strong adhesive. When glass breaks, the film holds the fragments in place within the frame. This creates several advantages:

  • Delays forced entry — An intruder who expects to break glass and reach through finds a stubborn barrier instead. Most will move on to an easier target.
  • Contains glass shards — No dangerous flying glass during storms, accidents, or impacts.
  • Maintains the barrier — Even after impact, the window remains a barrier to wind, rain, and entry.

Applications

  • Homes — Ground-floor windows, sliding glass doors, basement windows, and any entry point
  • Retail stores — Storefront glass, display windows, and entry doors
  • Offices — Ground-floor windows, lobby areas, and server rooms
  • Schools & public buildings — Added safety for high-traffic glass areas

Film Grades

We offer multiple security film thicknesses ranging from 4 mil to 14 mil, depending on the level of protection you need. Thicker films provide greater impact resistance and holding strength.

Security Window Film FAQ

Is security film the same as window tint?

No. While some security films also provide tinting benefits, security film is specifically engineered with thicker, multi-layered construction designed to hold glass together on impact. Standard tint film does not provide this level of protection.

Can security film stop a bullet?

Standard security film is not designed to stop bullets — that requires specialized ballistic-rated glass. However, security film significantly improves impact resistance and prevents glass fragmentation.

How long does security film last?

Quality security film typically lasts 15–20 years. It comes with a manufacturer warranty and maintains its holding strength throughout its lifespan.

Does security film work on double-pane windows?

Yes. Security film can be applied to the interior surface of double-pane or insulated glass units. It bonds to the glass regardless of the window construction type.
