Colorado Window Tint Laws

Colorado has specific regulations for automotive window tint that every driver should know:

  • Front side windows: 27% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) minimum
  • Rear side windows: 27% VLT minimum (any darkness allowed if vehicle has dual side mirrors)
  • Rear window: 27% VLT minimum (any darkness allowed if vehicle has dual side mirrors)
  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint on the top 4 inches only, 70% VLT
  • No metallic or mirrored tint is allowed on any window
At YESA, we know Colorado tint law inside and out. We'll help you choose a tint level that looks great, performs well, and keeps you compliant. No guesswork — just expert advice.

Film Options

Ceramic Window Tint — Our premium option. Ceramic film uses nano-ceramic technology to reject heat without darkening your windows excessively. It won't interfere with GPS, cell signals, or radio. Best for drivers who want top-tier performance. Carbon Window Tint — An excellent mid-range choice. Carbon film provides strong heat rejection with a distinctive matte-black appearance. It's fade-resistant and won't turn purple over time like older dyed films. Dyed Window Tint — Our most affordable option. Dyed film provides solid privacy and glare reduction. While it doesn't reject as much heat as ceramic or carbon, it's a great choice for drivers on a budget who still want a clean, dark look.

Automotive Window Tinting FAQ

How long does automotive window tinting take?

Most vehicles take between 1.5 and 3 hours depending on the number of windows and the type of film selected. Larger vehicles like SUVs may take a bit longer.

How long before I can roll down my windows after tinting?

We recommend waiting 3–5 days before rolling down your windows to allow the adhesive to fully cure. In cooler weather, it may take up to a week.

Will window tint interfere with my electronics?

Ceramic and carbon films will not interfere with GPS, cell signals, Bluetooth, or radio. Some metallic films can cause interference, but we do not use metallic tint.

Is window tint legal in Colorado?

Yes, within specific limits. Colorado requires at least 27% VLT on front side windows, and allows any darkness on rear windows if the vehicle has dual side mirrors. We ensure every installation is compliant.

How much does car window tinting cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle type, number of windows, and the film you choose. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your specific vehicle.
